The Choosing, Part 2 is the second episode of the first season in Dragon Booster. It first aired in the US on October 30, 2004. It was then aired in Canada on November 2, 2004 and in Australia on February 24, 2005.
Plot Summary[]
Artha manages to not finish last in the race and is optimistic about his progress. Parmon reveals that he has connected their Vid Game controllers to Beau’s racing controls and Artha’s helmet, essential allowing him to race Beau as he races dragons in his Vid Game. Reference to Artha’s blooming love interest in Kitt Wonn is made. Moordryd and Cain are spying on the crew, and switch gear tactics to eliminate Artha and the other racers in the next race.
The next race carries a prize of 10,000 Dracals and a brand new level 5 Green Ramming gear. Artha achieves unlocking Beau’s power to speed ahead at vortex velocity and passes an annoyed Moordryd, who asks Cain to plant a disrupter flash on the track for Artha and uses a Dragbox and Energy Drain Whip against him. Artha jumps over the mine but Moordryd gets pulled onto it, blowing him off the track. Artha loses his gear and lead close to the finish line due to Beau's energy drain and finishes second-last ahead of Moordryd.
The trio later head to the damaged Penn Stables to pack up what was left of Connor’s gear. Artha finds an old picture of him, Lance and his father. In one of the stables, Beau spots gold light filtering through a hole in a wall and pushes a nearby hook, a lever, that leads Artha and Beau to a Gold Draconium Dragon Priests' Temple, miles below the Stables, where they meet Mortis. Mortis gives Artha the gauntlet of the Dragon Booster.
Meanwhile, the Dragon Eye crew attack the stables again. Kitt bursts into the scene to help Lance and Parmon, reversing her Red Thruster gear to create a wall of fire. Lance calls Artha for help. He activates the Dragon Booster armour and joins the battle but ends up being cornered. Lance throws a flash-stick and blinds the Dragon Eye crew, allowing the Dragon Booster to defeat them. As he runs past, Artha flicks up his visor to show Lance and Parmon his identity, before flicking it down again. A stray Green Ramming gear shot dislodges some suspension cables and makes the stable grounds unstable. Kitt, Parmon and Lance slip off an edge but hold on to one of the cables. Artha hauls them back up but the cable snaps before Kitt makes it through. Beau and Artha jump after her, catching Kitt. Artha unlocks Beau's ability to fly and the trio glides down to safety.
Word Paynn is angry at Moordryd for failing to capture the dragon of legend and allowing it to choose a Dragon Booster. He threatens to find someone else to help him start a new Dragon-Human War.
